The West Babylon Junior High School mathematics program is designed so that students are encouraged to value mathematics, gain confidence in their ability, become problem solvers, reason mathematically, and communicate in mathematics. To achieve these goals, instruction centers on problems drawn from real-world situations and applications. As students approach their high school program, the mathematics curriculum provides the conceptual underpinning so that they may proceed from concrete to abstract mathematical concepts.
